Our History
A Lehigh Valley fixture for more than 135 years, Lehigh Valley College is steeped in a tradition of high academic standards.
1869 to Today: A Brief Overview
When Lehigh Valley College first opened our doors, we were located at Ninth and Hamilton Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the present location of the Clarion Hotel. The Civil War had been over for only four years, the typewriter had just been invented, and Ulysses S. Grant was our President.
Ever-expanding, Lehigh Valley College then moved to 803 Hamilton Mall, followed by a move in 1981 to Seventh and Hamilton. In 1986, Lehigh Valley College expanded again with a move to 1501 Lehigh Street, also in Allentown.
In July 2003, Lehigh Valley College moved to our present location in Center Valley, just outside of Allentown.
Located on a spacious 30-acre campus, Lehigh Valley College is home to 97,000 square feet of facility space. Our campus includes 40 classrooms, 2 art studios, a photo/video studio, 4 Mac labs, and 5 PC labs as well as student and faculty lounges, a snack bar, a bookstore, and faculty and administrative offices. Lehigh Valley College´s library offers access to audio, video, and print resources six days a week as well as an extensive cyber catalog. Students and faculty stay closely connected through our 24/7 wireless Internet environment.
