Lehigh Valley College Students Observe Earth Day
( Center Valley , April 25, 2006) – To increase awareness of environmental issues in connection with Earth Day, Lehigh Valley College recently organized students for a litter clean-up brigade on April 21. Environmental information was provided at a station set up in the college atrium and manned by students and staff as a part of the school's Week of Welcome program for new and returning students in the spring quarter.
Terry Alfano, campus activities coordinator, said beautifying the Lehigh Valley College campus was one way to put the ideals of Earth Day into practice. “We believe that this is a small but significant way to take part in the worldwide effort supporting Earth Day. Simply put, everyone can make a difference in litter reduction in their community, at their workplace, or on their college campus.”
