Lehigh Valley College Sponsors Boys & Girls Club Field Day

(Center Valley , June 23, 2006) – Lehigh Valley College’s sales management class was the sponsor of the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown Field Day held on Friday, June 23. The event, held on the Lehigh Valley College campus in Center Valley, was designed to encourage teamwork among boys and girls from 8 to 11 years old.

The Field Day was made possible by Professor Tracy Rimple’s sales management class, which conducted a number of fundraisers in order to host the event. Field Day activities included face painting, egg races, tug of war, kickball, sack races, a water balloon toss, a cookout, music, chalk drawing, and jump rope.

"When my students were tasked with this project, they decided to reach out to the community and focus their energies on helping the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown," said Rimple. "This was a true ‘hands on’ project that mixed marketing and management concepts and gave all class participants an appreciation for real-time project management challenges."

The Boys & Girls Club of Allentown is located at 720 North Sixth Street in Allentown.
