Two New Members Named to Lehigh Valley College Board
(Center Valley, April 25, 2006) – Lehigh Valley College announced today that it has added Pamela J. Garin and Lucy Lennon to the board of directors of the Center Valley college. Members of the five-person board serve terms of three years.
A lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley , Garin currently lives in Allentown with her husband and daughter. She is the first graduate of the school to sit on its board, having enrolled in 1999.
A management/marketing major, Garin was vice president of the school's first Students in Free Enterprise team, which won the Northeast Regional Championship; she was named Rookie of the Year and received a prestigious Sam Walton fellowship.
Garin graduated magna cum laude and valedictorian in 2001, a member of Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society and the Executive Committee. She was commencement speaker for the graduating class of 2002.
While in school she began work at PBS Channel 39, Bethlehem , as a corporate and marketing underwriter representative. “It's very important for me, as an alumna of Lehigh Valley College , to serve in this way," Garin said. “I have always been a very strong supporter and I am proud to be a graduate and now a member of the board."
Lennon is co-owner of the Dancing Fish Japanese restaurant in Bethlehem , which she opened in 2000. Since then, she has been active in many community and commercial organizations.
She has been a member of the Bethlehem Area Chamber of Commerce since 2000 and, during the same period, a member of the Downtown Bethlehem Association, where she was a board member from 2001 until 2004.
In 2002, she developed the Bethlehem Sirens calendar, a fundraising effort that supports police and emergency services personnel in the city. Since then, she has been design and production coordinator for the program; this year, Lehigh Valley College design students will take part in the work. Lennon also was a founding member of the Community Calendar Fund, a program with similar aims.
In 2004 she was named an MS Corporate Achiever by the regional chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The same year, Lennon received the Governor's Award from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, and in 2005 was honored by the Bethlehem Fire Department with its Community Service Award.

The mother of five, Lennon believes strongly in service to the region's young people. “I was introduced to the college when I was invited there by a personal friend," she said, “and I was really impressed.
